tututata (ツツタタ) Wash-Finished Hand Towel
Set of 2

Wrap, Fold, and Brighten Your Life

Since its founding in 1931, Kakuno Sarashi Co., Ltd. has continued to protect the traditional technology of wash-finished (wash-narashi) fabric. From their reliable skills and passion, a new lifestyle brand, tututata, was born.
The brand name comes from the sounds of the actions tsutsumu (to wrap) and tatamu (to fold), which symbolize Japan's textile culture. We deliver a new Hand towel that is neither a furoshiki nor a handkerchief, but one that fits into your daily life.
While retaining the breathability and absorbency unique to wash-finished fabric, the design is a complete departure from the traditional image. Modern patterns reminiscent of Nordic textiles and gentle colors bring brightness and playfulness to your everyday life.
The thick, high-quality fabric offers a tangible sense of quality every time you hold it. Furthermore, the edges are finished with overlock stitching, ensuring durability and resistance to fraying even after repeated washing. Additionally, it comes with a Hand towel Recipe that suggests various ways to use it in your daily life, such as in the kitchen, for interior decor, or as a fashion accent.
From the scouring and bleaching of the fabric to printing and inspection, all processes are integrated and produced in-house. This meticulous craftsmanship, overseen by the eyes and hands of artisans, delivers unwavering quality.
This piece, a fusion of tradition and modern sensibility, is a masterpiece that will long accompany your daily life.
