Please purchase only if you understand that this is a used item. It was actually used to hold *otoso* (New Year's medicinal sake) for about 10 years during New Year's celebrations. There are small scratches and peeling in places.

Practicing the *sansankudo* ritual for Shinto weddings, as a decorative item for shops, or as props for photoshoots or stage performances? The tray with legs for the *tosodai* can also be very charmingly used as a feeding station for cats or dogs!

When drinking *otoso*, the entire family faces east. Sake is poured from the right of the person drinking, and the order of drinking proceeds from the youngest to the oldest. This is said to signify the elders absorbing the vitality of the young, and it is also a remnant of poison testing. Originally, sake is drunk in three sips from three stacked cups, but in a simplified ceremony, sake is poured three times into one cup and drunk in three sips.
People in their unlucky years drink last, so they can share their power to ward off bad luck with those not in their unlucky years.

When drinking, recite: One person drinks this, and the family will have no suffering; the whole family drinks this, and the village will have no illness.
