Jun-saku Koizumi Ochoko Guinomi Sake Cup
This is a sometsuke (blue and white porcelain) guinomi (sake cup) featuring a coelacanth, created by Japanese painter Jun-saku Koizumi.
The coelacanth was a symbolic motif that he superimposed onto his own way of life. Unswayed by the trends of the art world, he likened himself, who walked his own path, to the coelacanth, a living fossil.
