Burleigh is the world's last ceramic manufacturer to use the traditional copperplate printing method developed in England over 200 years ago. Copperplate printing involves engraving a design onto a copper plate, printing it onto transfer paper, and then hand-applying it to the ceramic surface one piece at a time. All Burleigh products are handmade in England, and there may be variations in ink coverage and the way the transfer paper is applied to each piece. These characteristics contribute to Burleigh's deep charm.
