This is natural long hijiki seaweed harvested from Kogo Island, a remote island rich in seafood floating in the Seto Inland Sea in Ehime Prefecture. It is popular every year.

This is a precious domestic hijiki, accounting for only about 10% of the hijiki distributed in Japan. However, due to the effects of the recent global environment, the catch volume is decreasing year by year, making this a very rare, purely domestic long hijiki.

Hand-picked → Hand-washed → Boiled in an iron pot → Steamed → Sun-dried. All processes are done by hand with great care and effort.

It has a rich aroma, excellent flavor and texture, and a beautiful appearance.＾＾

Hijiki is rich in nutrients such as calcium, which strengthens bones, and dietary fiber, which cleanses the intestines.
It is also a nutrient-rich food containing vitamins that keep skin healthy and iodine that promotes metabolism.

*Occasionally, you may find white deposits. These are salt crystals. They will dissolve when soaked in water, so please consume without worry.

*Although we carefully select the hijiki, due to visual inspection and manual processing, shells, small crabs, or other foreign matter may be mixed in. Please remove them before use. (^^)

*Please discard the soaking water and rinse the hijiki 1-2 times before cooking.

*While this is long hijiki, due to the nature of the product, shorter pieces of hijiki may be included at the bottom. We hope you can use them differently depending on your recipe, such as for hijiki rice.＾＾
