《Sporeling Culture》 P. hillii cv. Dragon Sporeling
Platycerium Hillii Dragon Sporeling
?? About the Plant
This is a cultured sporeling of P. hillii cv. Dragon, obtained from a spore lottery at a retail store in Kyoto.
We have already selected individuals with distinct characteristics twice. However, many of P. hillii's unique expressions only become apparent as the plant grows larger, so this selection is largely based on luck.
?? Condition
New shoots are developing, and the plant is in excellent condition. Ideally, I would like to grow it until it matures to observe its full expression, but I am listing it for sale because I have run out of space for plants.
Spores were sown in August 2024 and mounted in October 2025.
As shown in the photos, the transition to spore leaves is in progress.
?? Current Growing Environment
Approximately 13,000 lx from a grow light. 16 hours/day.
Every 2-3 days. Watered when the sphagnum moss becomes crispy or feels light when lifted.
Slight movement of the leaf tips.
Slow-release fertilizer is mixed into the sphagnum moss.
New Zealand 3A sphagnum moss is used. No other materials like Bellabon are included inside.
Mounted using synthetic sewing thread.
