Cute Banyan Tree and Succulent Arrangement

Two types of soil, one for succulents and one for banyan trees, are used separately.

The banyan tree is a popular houseplant. In Okinawa, it is said to be inhabited by a spirit called Kijimunā. Banyan trees are evergreen trees distributed in tropical to subtropical regions, so they prefer warm, sunny locations. While care must be taken with sunlight exposure and watering, it is generally an easy-to-grow houseplant.

Banyan trees are evergreen trees and not deciduous by nature, but they may shed leaves due to cold temperatures, environmental changes, improper watering (too much or too little), or insufficient sunlight. Leaves are particularly prone to falling in winter when temperatures drop below 5°C (41°F). This is a physiological phenomenon for dormancy or environmental adaptation, and if the plant is healthy, new shoots will emerge in spring. The cause of leaf drop varies: if the leaves are wilted, it may be due to root rot or lack of sunlight; if they are crispy, it's due to lack of water; and if they are sticky, it's due to pests.
