Maison Rivière is a family-run wine merchant based in Saint-émilion, established in 1875.
Owner Philippe Rivière, along with his brother Jean-Pierre, manages five chateaux they own. In addition to this, they act as brokers for Bordeaux Grand Cru wines and establish sales contracts with small, reputable producers, wholesaling high-quality wines both domestically and internationally. Rivière's main markets are specialized wine shops and restaurants within France. They sell wines from their own chateaux as well as those under contract, all subjected to rigorous quality checks and price evaluations. Their philosophy is not to create wine with price in mind, but rather to ensure that the wine does not degrade even when aged for a long time, and to offer delicious wines at their peak drinking window. The flagship wines owned by Rivière are Saint-émilion Grand Cru (premier cru plots).
The Grand Cru wines from the Saint-émilion region are aged for two years in new oak barrels before bottling. They are meticulously crafted by hand, offering a rich aroma and an elegant taste that is both soft and full-bodied!
