This is a 9-year-old single malt finished in an ex-Amontillado Sherry hogshead.
Amontillado Sherry is an oxidized sherry, derived from Manzanilla or Fino, with an amber hue and a flavor profile between Fino and Oloroso.
Finishing in this cask imparts flavors of dark cherry, roasted hazelnut, and caramel sauce.
