This is the skin of the stems that is produced when Gyokuro, the highest grade of Japanese tea, is finished. It is an extremely rare tea due to its very limited production volume. It has a mild bitterness and a sweet flavor, and can be brewed with either cold or hot water. For this tea, it is recommended to use a little more tea leaves because it expands significantly, which will make it even more delicious.
Standard brewing guidelines for Itoyori Gyokuro:
Tea leaves: 5g (appears to be more than other teas)
Number of infusions: 2 times*
Please adjust the amount of tea leaves according to your preference for number of people, strength, or weakness.
*The full flavor of the tea leaves may not be extracted with removable nets or paper filters. Please shake the teapot about 5-10 times to allow the tea leaves to circulate and brew.
