This solvent has a lower odor and lower health hazards compared to turpentine, camphor oil, and kerosene.

It can be used in lacquerware and Kintsugi for diluting lacquer to adjust viscosity, and for cleaning tools and equipment that have come into contact with lacquer. It is highly compatible with lacquer and can be used as a substitute for turpentine, camphor oil, and kerosene, which are conventionally used as diluents and cleaning agents in lacquerware crafts.
This product is a solvent derived from petroleum, but it has undergone refining to separate and remove components with strong odors and high health hazards (such as aromatics).
Therefore, it has significantly lower health hazards and a reduced odor compared to turpentine, camphor oil, and kerosene, creating a safer working environment.
Furthermore, it is not subject to the Industrial Safety and Health Act (Ordinance on Prevention of Organic Solvent Poisoning) which designates substances like turpentine.
While this product has lower health hazards than turpentine, camphor oil, and kerosene, it is still an organic solvent. When using, please work in a well-ventilated area and keep away from ignition sources such as heat and sparks.
Also, be careful not to let the storage and work areas become excessively hot. Depending on the type of lacquer being mixed, the characteristics of the finish, such as smoothness and bubble dissipation when applied with a brush, may differ from those when using solvents like turpentine.
For precise painting and decorative work, please test compatibility with the lacquer on a sample piece beforehand.
