Width 38.5cm Depth 22cm Height 10cm
1. A type of Kayoi-bon (serving tray)
With a slatted bottom, it functions strongly as a **draining tray** for placing freshly washed tea bowls or wet cloths. It is more useful in the Mizuya (preparation area) for setup and cleanup rather than during the actual tea ceremony.
2. Mizuya-bon (preparation tray)
Used for arranging and carrying tea bowls, and for draining water after rinsing.
? Slatted structure: Allows excess moisture to drain through.
? Handles: Holes on both sides make it suitable for carrying multiple tea bowls.
3. Use in Senchado (Sen tea ceremony)
In Senchado, which uses sencha (green tea) instead of matcha, it can be used to arrange and carry tea utensils, and also as an aid during the tea preparation (temae).
