Mr. Den, Yasuhira Okuda, Akae Kyusu (Red Glaze Teapot), Kagura Kiln, Artist: Kanjiro Kawai, Shoji Hamada, Mingei (Folk Craft)
This is a red-painted kyusu (teapot) by Kura Kobo Okuda Yasuhiro.
He studied under the great masters of Japanese folk art, Kanjiro Kawai and Shoji Hamada, and is known for his efforts in reviving Tamba Tachikui ware.
Meiki Okishio Aruki of Kurashiki also worked under Okuda Yasuhiro in Tamba after training in Hashima ware.
Condition
There is a chip near the lid.
About 90% of the chipped part remains (the fragments shown in the photos), so it may be possible to repair it with kintsugi or other methods.
There is no other major damage, so it can be used as a teapot without any problems.
Please check the photos for details.
This is an old item, so please refrain from purchasing if you are looking for perfection or do not understand handmade crafts.
