Wild Grape Sapling - 1 Plant
This is a variety called Portlet One.
It is growing vigorously while overwintering in Hokkaido.
We will be sending you rooted seedlings, approximately 25-30cm in size, as shown in photos 13-15. Please plant them in soil and water them thoroughly.
Grapes (Wild Grape): Potlet One is an offspring-selected variety of European origin that can be cultivated in pots.
The fruit size is about the same as Delaware, with a rich sweetness and aroma, making it ideal for juice and jam.
■ Grape Cultivation Method
Grapes are vines.
If planting in the ground, a trellis (like a wisteria trellis) is necessary.
For potted plants, it is common to manage them by training them like morning glories on a lantern-style support.
Plant in a location with good sunlight, ventilation, and drainage.
For ground planting, apply organic fertilizer around February to March.
Pruning should be done in February after leaf fall. Cut back the new branches that grew the previous year, leaving them. There are almost no concerns about pests and diseases.
It will bear fruit from a single plant. It grows quickly.
Please refer to the photos for last year's harvest. We plan to preserve them in sugar and brandy, drink the liquid, and make jam from the grapes.
