Shunsho Pottery Water Basin, Thatched Hut Stone, Tabletop Dry Landscape / Rare / Antique / Vintage Item

This is a tabletop karesansui (dry landscape garden) set featuring a water basin made by Shunsho Touen and a Kayashya-ishi (thatched hut stone).

The set includes a lapis lazuli colored water basin, two lanterns, a water stone, a shishi-odoshi (deer scarer), and sand, for a total of 6 items. It has been stored as a complete set for many years. It is uncertain if it was originally sold as a set.

The water basin has scuff marks around the base, pinholes and iron powder marks from the firing process, and the wooden part of the shishi-odoshi is wobbly and discolored. (It can be easily disassembled). The sand appears to have some dust.

The water basin is a beautiful piece and can be used as a decorative plate as is.

Shunsho Touen is now out of business, so this is likely a rare item.
