Large-Fruited Ardisia (Oomi Juryo);
This is a horticultural variety of Ardisia that produces red berries one size larger than those of regular Ardisia. The glossy berries, which start to color around October, are a beautiful sight and are popular as a good luck charm for the New Year, for potted plants, and as ground cover in shady areas (shade gardens). It is excellent in cold and heat resistance and relatively easy to care for.

Compared to regular Ardisia, it is characterized by its large, red, glossy berries (cherry-sized).
The contrast between the deep green leaves and the red berries is beautiful, adding a sense of luxury to potted plants and arrangements.
It is a classic plant with the alias Juryo (Ten Ryo), loved as a New Year's good luck charm since the Edo period.
It grows well even in shade, making it ideal for the base of trees, undergrowth in gardens, moss balls, and ground cover.
