This is a mini moss bonsai of the Komachi Rindo (Gentiana nipponica).
Kogane Shida (a type of fern) is also growing, though it is buried in the moss.

There are some areas where moss is not growing.
There are also areas that are peeling or have become blackened with soil.
This is not a moss ball tied with string.

It is cared for in the same way as a bonsai.

The plate is handmade from oven-baked clay.
It has been waterproofed several times. If the waterproofing wears off, it will look like unglazed pottery.
The durability of the waterproofing may vary depending on the environment.
