Description
These are sweet gum tree fruits (Fuyunomi) harvested from our family's sweet gum tree. We selected firm, well-formed fruits. As they are from our home garden tree, we believe they are clean.
They have been washed, boiled, and dried.
Sweet gum tree fruits are said to help maintain weakly acidic water and reduce stress by providing hiding places in their holes and spiky exteriors.
The stems have been removed, so you can place them directly into your aquarium upon arrival. We recommend starting with 1-3 fruits and observing your fish. They will likely become curious and peck at them. You can then increase the number based on the size of your aquarium.
They will float initially but will gradually sink.
If you want them to sink faster, you can wedge them under decorations or tie them with string.
They have been boiled, so they should cause minimal water cloudiness. You also don't need to worry about insects.
It's time to replace them after about 3 months. Please replace them with new sweet gum tree fruits.
They can also be used for handmade crafts such as wreaths.
