Abekawa Stone, Kobayashi Soken inscribed box, viewing stone, suiseki, bonseki, wooden stand, stylish masterpiece

This is an Abe River stone that can be seen as a cow.

It's a humorous stone with a face in the center and a rear on the left. It's impressive how one can see such a likeness.

It comes with a box from Mr. Kobayashi Sōken, Director of the First Nihon Aiseki-kan and a Showa-era cultural figure (the hat and outer dimensions are the same as the Ibi River stone he lists, but the box construction is different).

(The memorial record Ishi no Kokoro posted as a reference image is not included in the product. Cultural figures such as Seishi Yamaguchi, Tōkurō Katō, and Shiko Munakata also contributed memorial texts.)

9.5cm x 7.5cm x 5cm, weight is 498g (including base).

On the inside of the box lid:

　雅石居 (Gaseki-kyo)
　宗閑 (Sōken) Seal [Sōken]

There appear to be three types of calligraphy: his wife's, his own, and the box maker's. His wife's calligraphy is skillful, and the box maker's is a practiced style. This appears to be his wife's work due to its soft style. The seal is identical to other seals by Mr. Sōken.

This is a one-of-a-kind cultural treasure, but I am listing it for sale as I am organizing my collection and wish to pass it on to someone else. Please understand that the box has signs of age-related deterioration.

The actual color may differ slightly from the product due to photography (amateur smartphone photography).

Please forgive any slight errors due to amateur measurements.

?? Please check the images and make your purchase based on your own judgment.

?? If old stones or bases have been remade, there may be some age-related deterioration such as scratches or scuffs.
