This is a work-in-progress craft item resembling a spiny lobster, made using Edo-uchi-himo (Edo braided cord) from the Showa to early Heisei eras.
This Japanese handmade item was created by my grandmother as a hobby, and completed versions have been sold in the past.
It has a traditional folk art and Japanese handicraft feel, with a deep red Edo-uchi-himo intricately woven in three dimensions.
As it is unfinished, it is recommended as is for display, as reference material, for remake projects, or for handmade inspiration.
The cord used is Shugei no Edo-uchi-himo, 100% Nylon.
