Description

Hairy vetch is widely favored by everyone from farmers to home gardeners for its weed suppression and green manure properties.

The leaves and stems of hairy vetch contain a substance called cyanamide, which suppresses weeds. It offers effects such as weed control, sterilization, and breaking seed dormancy, making it effective for weed suppression.

As for its green manure benefits, the root nodules on hairy vetch absorb nitrogen from the air and increase the nitrogen content in the soil, resulting in nutrient-rich soil.
