【Rice Paddy Experience at Home】Rice Seeds - 30g Paddy Seeds - Koshihikari - Pesticide-Free During Cultivation
These are rice seeds (seed rice).
Cultivated using traditional methods without chemical fertilizers, and without pesticides during the growing period from planting to harvesting.
The rice, dried on racks, was threshed using a foot-powered thresher.
We are offering these seeds to those interested in rice cultivation.
Some are still in the form of unthreshed ears of rice.
We also have seed rice for glutinous rice.
Please comment if you have any requests, and we will list them.
Cultivation location: Nagano Prefecture
Quantity: Approximately 30g
Based on counting the grains, there are about 200 seed rice grains per 5g, which is a sufficient amount for growing rice in a bucket.
We have included extra to account for stems and husks that may be mixed in with the seed rice.
The amount of seed can be adjusted, so please contact us if you have a desired quantity.
You can find various methods for growing rice in a bucket by searching for bucket rice cultivation.
Example procedure:
① Soaking in water → Change water daily. It is said that germination occurs when the temperature exceeds 100℃ (this is likely a typo and should refer to a different metric, but we will translate as is).
② Plant the germinated seeds in a planter or similar container.
③ Once sprouts appear and the leaves have grown to five, transplant them into a bucket.
Fill the bucket with soil and water to create a muddy consistency.
④ Grow in a sunny location, being careful to keep the water from drying out.
From our experience growing rice, we find that rice cultivation is not difficult.
Rice seems to adapt to its environment and grow accordingly. For example, if you transplant only a few rice seedlings into a bucket, the rice will tiller on its own and increase in number.
Even if you don't know something, it's interesting to try it out.
□ We were able to harvest rice even with dryland cultivation. However, the yield was less compared to paddy cultivation.
□ These seeds have been tested for germination and have sprouted.
- We cannot guarantee that all seeds will germinate.
- Parts other than the seed rice may be included. Also, some grains may not be separated individually. Please separate them one by one when soaking.
?? Seed rice harvested from our organically grown Koshihikari rice.
These are offered for home cultivation experiences, such as rice cultivation and observing germination.
- As these are self-collected seeds, we cannot guarantee varietal purity or quality.
- These are not commercial seeds for farmers or certified seeds.
- Please use them for enjoying cultivation at home.
For those who want to try a small amount or are interested in cultivation.
- Will be shipped in a transparent zip-lock bag. No packaging included.
Please feel free to comment if you wish to adjust the amount of seeds, combine with other seeds, etc.
