Pesticide-Free Happy Hill (Uruchimai) Paddy Rice Seeds, 80g, Upland Rice, Field-Grown

Type: Reiwa 7 (2025) Happy Hill Paddy Rice
Quantity: 80 grams (approximately 30% extra included)

Happy Hill is a rice variety developed by natural farming pioneer Masanobu Fukuoka. He crossbred Burmese rice with Japanese heavy-headed rice and repeatedly selected it over many years under the strict conditions of natural farming to stabilize the strain.

Mr. Fukuoka's goal was to create a robust rice that grows solely on the power of nature.
Happy Hill's characteristics include its resistance to disease even without fertilizer or pesticides, its ability to grow as upland rice in fields, and its high yield with numerous ears per plant.

We first cultivated this variety using seeds purchased from Noguchi Seed Research Institute in 2022 and have continued to grow it until last year. No pesticides have been used at all.

【Important Notes】
The paddy rice offered in this listing was not specifically cultivated for seed.
It has not undergone sorting or disinfection. We recommend that you perform water sorting before planting.
Drying was done mechanically.
Germination rate has not been tested.
Since 2023, we have cultivated rice using the same conditions as this offering, performing water sorting (as shown in the photo) and planting the seeds that sink, resulting in delicious rice.

It is expected that 10-20% of the paddy rice sent will float during water sorting. Due to the lack of sorting, we are including approximately 30% extra (as shown in the photo). However, those who require stable quality are advised to refrain from purchasing.
Happy Hill is a late-maturing variety. As harvesting occurs from late October to November, it is not suitable for cold regions such as Tohoku and Hokkaido.

We cultivate this rice in paddy fields, but last year, a neighbor successfully grew it in a field after raising seedlings and transplanting them.
We hope this reaches those who need it and contributes to the expansion of rice cultivation.

Thank you for your consideration.
