? Features
The surface of the brown rice is deep purple to black.
When cooked with white rice, it dyes the rice a reddish-purple color, similar to sekihan (red bean rice).
Rich in anthocyanins, it has strong antioxidant properties.
It is said to be high in dietary fiber, calcium, vitamin B2, and vitamin E.
As it is a mochi rice variety, it has a chewy texture and a good aroma, making it ideal for sekihan, okowa (steamed glutinous rice), and mixed grain blends.
While traditional varieties were prone to lodging (falling over), Asamurasaki is a variety that is resistant to lodging.
You can also enjoy growing it in a bucket!

? Cultivation
　Sowing Period: April-May
　Harvest Period: Autumn
Basically, it is the same as general paddy rice.
For stable yield, apply panicle fertilizer when the young panicle length is 2cm.
In regions with cold water, pay attention to water temperature management.
　Avoid excessive fertilization.
Stability is achieved with appropriate water management and by avoiding dense planting.
If the average temperature during the 11-20 days after heading is 25°C or lower, anthocyanin content increases, and the color becomes deeper.
Harvest around late September when the panicles ripen and the brown rice turns black.
After drying and hulling, the blackish-purple brown rice will appear.
Due to its nature, individual differences may occur during cultivation.
Cultivation methods and timing are guidelines.
Please cultivate according to your local conditions.
