These azuki beans, traditionally grown in the Tamba region, are rich in flavor. Their large,俵 (tawara - rice bale) shape makes them ideal for sweet bean paste (anko) and red bean rice.

Cold Regions: Early June to mid-July
Warm Regions: Late June to July
Germination Soil Temperature: Around 30°C (86°F)
Germination Rate: Approximately 80%
Sowing Method:
Note: Do not plant in the same spot year after year (crop rotation is necessary).
These beans dislike acidic soil, so amend the soil with dolomitic lime to neutralize it and apply base fertilizer before sowing.
Sow seeds with a spacing of 40-50 cm (16-20 inches) between plants. Water regularly to keep the soil surface moist until germination.
