Clam Beans - 15 Seeds

???????????????????????

Harvested in 2025.

This listing is for a set of 15 Kaimame (shell beans) seeds, grown without pesticides. (^^)

Kaimame are a type of kidney bean that have been cultivated in Hokkaido for a long time. They were brought from overseas during the Meiji era and became established during Hokkaido's pioneering period.

They are characterized by their distinctive swirling, shell-like patterns. Currently, they are rare and used in various dishes such as sweet simmered beans, anko (red bean paste), pastes, and dips. The patterns fade when cooked, but the flavor is rich.

Since they are climbing plants, we recommend growing them in pots until they develop true leaves, and then transplanting them to the field with supports. (^^)

Why not try growing these unique beans next season?

Thank you for your interest! m(_ _)m
