Type: Okawakame, Unnan Hyakuyaku

Grow a edible green curtain!
If the environment is suitable, the leaves can grow to about 10cm, providing shade.

The leaves are edible.
Boil for 10 seconds and they will resemble wakame seaweed.
Boiling thoroughly removes any grassy taste.
(They can be used in dishes like ohitashi, as a miso soup ingredient, and many recipes can be found on Cookpad.)
As the name Unnan Hyakuyaku (Yunnan Hundred Medicines) suggests, it is highly nutritious, rich in folate, iron, and other minerals, as well as vitamin A.

Easy for beginners to grow.
Place the seed tubers on top of the soil and water until sprouts appear.
They love the sun, so grow them in a sunny location.

For vitamin supplementation during disasters.
When large-scale disasters occur, fresh vegetables become difficult to obtain.
It's reassuring to have them growing in case of emergencies.
