Nasturtiums are annual plants characterized by their cute, round leaves and vibrant flower colors.
They can be enjoyed as ornamental plants, and both the flowers and leaves can be eaten as herbs.
They have a slightly peppery taste and add color and accent to salads.

This is a photo from November of seedlings that sprouted in the fall from summer self-sown seeds of flowers grown in my own garden. They did not reach flowering stage before the frost killed them, but the leaves could be harvested.

While typically sown in spring, fall sowing also seems possible.
In colder regions, sowing around June may also be possible.
Please adjust according to the climate of your region.

They are somewhat weak against intense summer heat, so if planting in planters or pots, it's best to move them to a spot with partial shade.
*In the past few years, summers have been too hot, and the plants in my garden did not survive the summer and died.
Observing the growth of self-sown seeds, while flowering may be difficult if sown again after the peak of summer heat, leaves can be harvested until the first frost.
