Weed control and green manure for spring to early summer
Organic
Six-row barley seeds, approx. 70g (home-saved seeds)
A generous amount, about 1500-2000 seeds.
This barley is sown in autumn to act as a windbreak in winter and suppress weeds in spring.
When sown in autumn, it develops strong roots, protecting the soil and acting as a windbreak for fields during winter.
In spring, it grows rapidly, covering the ground and suppressing weeds.
It naturally withers in early summer, so you can use it as shade for summer vegetables or incorporate it into the soil as green manure.
