They are easy to cultivate as they suit Japan's hot and humid climate well.

When the fruit ripens, it explodes and scatters seeds in all directions, earning it the nickname touch-me-not!
It also has the alias Tsumabeni,
which comes from the practice in ancient China and Korea of women and children dyeing their nails red!

Optimal germination temperature is 15℃.

?Sowing Method
Since they dislike transplanting, it's best to sow seeds directly.
Sow 3-4 seeds every 20cm, covering with about 1cm of soil.
Once they germinate and develop 2-3 true leaves, thin them out to leave only one strong seedling per spot.

?Soil and Fertilizer
Prefers well-draining soil.
Use a soil mix that drains well and retains moisture, such as a combination of Akadama soil, compost, and vermiculite.
Fertilizer is not necessary if you add base fertilizer, but once the plants reach about 10cm in height, apply a slow-release fertilizer around the base of each plant.
