Lemon Drop Pepper Seeds, Harvested in Reiwa 7 (2025)

Lemon Drop is a type of chili pepper native to Peru, known locally as Aji Limo.

It ripens to a vibrant lemon-yellow color and is characterized by its fruity flavor and mild spiciness. The Scoville heat unit (a measure of chili pepper spiciness) for Lemon Drop is around 15,000-30,000, making it relatively mild among hot peppers.

When planted outdoors, it can grow to about 150 cm (approx. 5 feet) tall and produces lovely, pale yellowish-green flowers.

Unusually for chili peppers, it can be cultivated in cooler climates. If grown in pots, you can enjoy its flowers and fruits indoors even during winter.

Lemon Drop has a flavor with a citrusy, spicy tang and a refreshing quality, reminiscent of lemon.

Compared to the Scotch Bonnet from Jamaica, its spiciness is not as intense, allowing it to be eaten raw and sliced. Please enjoy its fruity flavor.

It also pairs exceptionally well with chicken and fish dishes. It's also great for salsa, dried chili, and Peru's representative dish, ceviche.

If shipped via the 4th Class Mail (plant seeds) postal service, the envelope will be cut a few centimeters to allow for inspection by the post office. Please understand that there are no issues with the contents or safety.
