Thank you for viewing this item.
We kindly ask for your understanding and request that everyone reads the following.
All plants are listed as slightly scratched or dirty.

◆ This is a Haran (Japanese Aspidistra) root.
You will receive 10 pieces of stem seedlings, which are rhizomes and root parts. We will add a few small leaves or just rhizomes.
The size of each piece will be such that they fit without damage in a packet-sized box. Images 6 and 13 are examples. The tray backing is A4 size.
Images 18-20
In spring, it blooms with a very unusual shaped flower. The buds are round like a blue yuzu. Seeds can also be seen afterwards.

◆ The rhizomes will be washed and then soaked in a very dilute solution of Menéde. They will normally be sent in the condition shown in Image 6.
1 leaf is counted as 1 stem seedling. If the rhizome is small, the number will be increased.
Leaves are said to promote better growth, so we will include them uncut if they can be packed without damage.
We harvest from the outside of the plant, so we cannot accept requests for specific buds or sizes. We appreciate your understanding.

?? The stem can serve as a marker when planting, but please take safety precautions such as laying it down or cutting it to avoid a dangerous tip.

◆ Please leave a comment if you have any additional requests.

◆ Our Haran
My grandfather purchased it for our home. It has been over 46 years.
It grows large on a water basin-shaped garden stone and in pots. It used to be in a pond where koi swam. About 30 years ago, it was moved to the garden stone and pots.
The above-ground part can be over 50cm long.
It is said to have air purifying properties and medicinal effects. It is used as fresh flowers for ikebana and arrangements, as dishes for cooking, and as garnishes.
It develops beautiful variegation in bright shade. Our plants are in partial shade due to sunlight hours, so about 30% are variegated. The beautiful green color is well-suited for garnishing dishes.

◆ We are growing these with the hope that they will grow beautifully in your garden.
Thank you for your understanding.
