My mother fractured her lumbar spine, and I purchased this on Amazon. However, it arrived late, after she had already recovered enough to sit up a bit. Therefore, it was only used for about 1-2 weeks.
Because it felt a bit firm directly, I used it placed under a mattress pad, so it was not directly touched. As far as I can see, there are no stains or scratches.
I used it without the handrail, so the handrail is unused.

Care beds are heavy and require multiple people to carry upstairs, so this is very convenient. Even a single woman can carry it, though it is heavy. It can be used with your current bed!
