Thornless Angelica Tree Cuttings

8 Scions
Approx. 2.0cm in diameter
Approx. 25-30cm in length

These are thornless angelica tree scions, organically grown on our abandoned farmland!

The cool climate of the Aso region, with its abundant annual rainfall, has traditionally been ideal for growing high-altitude vegetables.

While it's a suitable area for leafy greens and root vegetables, fruit tree production has been less common. However, due to recent global warming, the climate has changed, making it more difficult to cultivate traditional agricultural products.

Thinking about the future, about five years ago, we started cultivating wild vegetables on abandoned land and have also ventured into growing fruits like figs, peaches, and grapes, which thrive in warmer regions.

This time, we are selling scions of thornless angelica tree buds. Normally, if angelica trees sprout from roots, you can harvest larger ones in about a year. However, with these thornless angelica tree scions, simply place them in water or a planter, and depending on the temperature and water temperature, you can enjoy angelica tree buds like those in the second image within 3 weeks to a month!

The scions have more buds towards the tip and the spacing between buds increases towards the bottom. The buds sprout from the top, and once harvested and eaten, the next buds will sprout again.

Our family's most recommended way to eat them is sashimi-style! ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

While most people enjoy angelica tree buds as tempura, with our home-grown thornless angelica buds, you can briefly blanch them, then chill them in ice-cold water. Serve with sashimi soy sauce and wasabi. If you're feeling fancy, try them with sansho (Japanese pepper) soy sauce infused with sansho flowers. You'll be captivated by the unique crisp texture, sweetness, slight bitterness, and aroma that you've never experienced before!

The thought that this wonderful food can be grown in your own garden or planter is truly exciting! We want everyone to experience this joy!

We will soak the scions overnight in our prized Iwashimizu waterfall basin, then pack them with moisture-retaining paper and high-performance film before sending them via Nekoposu (a postal service).

As soon as we receive your order, we will cut the scions, soak them overnight in the waterfall basin, and ship them the next day. This means there will be a slight delay before shipping, but we guarantee they will be sent fresh and newly cut. We look forward to your purchase!
