Images 11 shows sprouts 3 weeks after planting. Image 12 shows roots that were transplanted into pots and grown for 2 years before being planted in the field. Image 14 shows roots planted 1 month after transplanting into a mulched abandoned field, grown for 1 year!!

When grown as shown in Image 14, you can harvest them directly the following year. In our home, we enjoy harvesting taranome sprouts year-round by cutting them every two nodes about two weeks before we want to eat the branches, and then sticking them into planters!
