Goldenrod is a perennial plant belonging to the Asteraceae family and the Solidago genus.

In Japan, it is also known as Daihagi...
Its dried stems are said to be used as material for things like blinds and tea.

Furthermore, Goldenrod is said to have detoxifying effects and be effective for atopic dermatitis, long-term asthma, gastrointestinal diseases, kidney stones, nephritis, cystitis, rheumatism, and dry skin.

Its leaves, in particular, have a blood-purifying effect and are popular for use in bath additives and oils due to their effectiveness for atopic dermatitis.

It is often mistaken as a cause of hay fever (>_<)
but it is an insect-pollinated plant (chubai-ka) whose flowers are pollinated by insects.
While it may have some pollen, it does not have the characteristic of scattering pollen far away.

Goldenrod blooms with yellow flowers from around September to November, and disperses seeds with dandelion-like fluff.
The cause of hay fever is often mistaken for ragweed, a similar plant.

It appears to be an introduced species from North America, brought to Japan as an ornamental plant for cut flowers... Originally, its beautiful yellow flowers can be seen in autumn.
However, the unfortunate part is winter.
When it withers from the cold, its tall form remains and decays Σ('???’)
Perhaps it would be better to cut it near the base when it's about to wither, leaving the roots.
