Scientific name: Passiflora ligularis. Fruits and seedlings are rarely available in Japan. Originating from the high mountainous regions of South America, it is said to be more cold-tolerant than domestic varieties. Its greatest characteristic is its transparent flesh with a strong sweetness and low acidity.
Also known as Granadilla or Amami Kudamonotokeisou.
