12 green onion seedlings that are less likely to bolt
Type: Scallion seedlings (seedlings resistant to drying)
?? We have lowered the price and increased the number of seedlings compared to last year. Last time, we increased from 10 to 12 seedlings. ?? This is a great deal.
If you understand the profile and product description, [Immediate purchase OK] ??
These scallions do not grow from seeds but multiply by dividing the clumps. We will send them with the tops cut off (about 12cm including the roots). This is long enough for planting. Please understand.
Please see the last photo.
?? Branching has just begun. We will send branched scallion seedlings. (Counted as one seedling)
We will send seedlings like these. (It might be slightly different. Please use it as an example.)
Replant once a year.
Of course, fertilize according to growth.
As the clumps grow and become crowded, the main scallions will become thinner. The roots will also rot and disappear.
In 2024, about 3-4 out of 300 scallions produced flower stalks. In 2025, none produced flower stalks.
?? No flower stalks have appeared this year either.
Every year, we divide and propagate the clumps. Since flower stalks rarely appear, you can harvest and use them all year round. Although flower stalks may occasionally appear, they are few in number. Compared to regular scallions, the number is significantly less. They are tender year-round and can be eaten. They are convenient to use in small dishes all year round. This is a great deal.
They can be grown in planters (deep ones), but please plant them in a sunny location.
From spring to summer, they grow quickly and branch out, becoming thinner. In summer, they branch out further and become thinner. (Can be used as a garnish for somen noodles, etc.)
On the other hand, they tend to become thicker in autumn and winter. I put the thick white parts in hot pot dishes. (I use plenty of soil and make the white part thicker. Please search online for details.)
Even in summer, unlike regular scallions, they do not become tough, so they are delicious when used as a garnish.
They can also be dried. Scallions are hardy vegetables. Please plant them in well-draining soil.
?? To those considering purchasing: These scallions will not grow as thick as white leeks (single-stem leeks). However, they will grow to the thickness of those sold in supermarkets. (The other day, I went to the supermarket and saw scallions, and they were quite expensive. Scallions are also becoming more expensive.) Please consider purchasing if you understand after looking at the photos.
