Rare Item from Yoko Arimoto Exhibition | Wool Felt Pot Mat - Vintage Item
Purchased at a Yoko Arimoto exhibition over 20 years ago.
This is a wool felt pot mat/trivet.
Simply placing it down gently softens the resonance of different materials such as wood, ceramics, and metal, creating a sense of stillness in the space.
The beautiful pure white of the undyed felt has not lost its clear and transparent presence over time.
The small holes are for hanging to dry, and also serve as accents that subtly add to its neatness as a tool.
When you place a teapot, kyusu, or small pot on it, it gently supports the weight of the metal.
It also looks elegant when placed under seasonal fruits or small objects, enhancing them like a display stand.
Using and viewing.
It is a quiet daily tool that responds to both.
The innocence of the white felt washes over the heart.
A small world can be created with just a single piece of felt.
As an interior display mat.
It becomes a sophisticated item.
Felt tends to absorb moisture, so there seems to be a culture of hanging it to dry.
The reason for the holes makes sense.
I believe this is a rare daily tool that cannot be found today.
Width 17.5cm
Length 22cm
Please consider these as approximate measurements.
