We will deliver 6 thick Bōzu Shirazu dried leek seedlings for planting.
6 seedlings equivalent to photos 3 and 4 will be sent via courier.

It's time to plant the dried leeks. Please plant them with about 5cm spacing between plants. (See photos 4 & 5)
They will multiply 3-4 times by autumn.
Cultivate them in the same way as regular dried leeks.

True Bōzu Shirazu leeks, unlike regular leeks, do not produce flower stalks (negi bōzu) in spring. Therefore, you cannot sow seeds to propagate them; instead, you grow dried leeks and increase them by dividing the clumps.

The thickness and length of the leeks are the same as regular leeks, so please cultivate them in a separate area.
(You won't be able to tell the difference until spring when the flower stalks appear.)
They are popular for home gardens as they can be grown in small spaces, and more people are growing them in planters.

Leeks are used in a wide variety of dishes, but Bōzu Shirazu leeks are particularly useful during the period when regular leeks are scarce (May-June) and can be harvested year-round.
