Fresh sweet potato seedlings are not planted as is.
Even if the leaves are wilted, as long as the stem's skin is firm, the leaves may appear to die off once, but new leaves will emerge over time.

If you are concerned about wilted leaves upon arrival, soak them in water for about 3 hours before planting. (Soaking for too long can cause the firm stem to become waterlogged, leading to stem rot and planting failure.)
