★Excellent Accuracy, Beautiful Condition, Seiko Lord Marvel Gold Filled Clam Shell Case, SD Dial

The Lord Marvel, which reigned as the highest-grade domestic watch until the launch of Grand Seiko in the late 1950s. This is an early model featuring an engraved logo, SD dial, clamshell case, and a thick 14k 80-micron gold plating.

While the history of its most recent overhaul is unknown, its accuracy was measured with a timegrapher on February 13th, and as shown in the 13th photo, it exhibited excellent values for rate, beat error, and amplitude, so you can use it with confidence. (This measurement was taken in the flat position only.)

The case and dial have unavoidable scuffs and dirt from age and use, but these contribute to its atmospheric vintage feel. While many engraved logos on other pieces have faded, the fact that this one is clearly legible without bleeding is rare. However, the crystal has some cracks. They are barely noticeable from directly above (front view), but as you can see in the 10th photo, they are visible when viewed from an angle. While they do not obstruct time reading, we recommend replacing the crystal during an overhaul. (Crystals of the same or similar shape can still be obtained for a few thousand yen.)

A very clean Accurate Form leather strap, used for only about 2 hours, has been attached. The lug width is 18mm. The buckle is from the late 1960s.

With the soaring prices of Grand Seiko, the market value of Lord Marvel, especially early models, is increasing. As the circulation is likely decreasing, this is a great opportunity for those who are looking for one.
