*This is a set of 2 Mino ware shot glasses called Sakazuki from Gifu Prefecture.
These vessels are decorated using a traditional copperplate transfer technique, where the pattern is applied by hand to each piece before firing. Unlike machine-applied designs, this method allows for variations in paint density and fine patterns, similar to hand-painting. Furthermore, a unique, generations-old technique enables the pattern to be transferred onto the sides and curved surfaces. As each piece is handcrafted by artisans, there may be individual differences in color unevenness and pattern transfer, giving each item its own unique character even within the same design. These are vessels meant to be enjoyed for the charm of their handmade quality.
*Due to the handmade finishing of Japanese pottery, each piece has unique variations and different expressions. Sizes may also vary slightly depending on the product.
Variations such as color appearance, glaze density, pattern differences, visible base material, small holes, glaze drips, color unevenness, fading, scorch marks, and firing unevenness may occur in the products. Please purchase with an understanding of these characteristics.
*The actual product color may differ slightly from the on-screen color due to the shooting environment and the device you are viewing. We do not accept returns unless the product is defective.
*Items will be shipped randomly from our current stock.
*We have many other tableware items listed.
Please take a look.
