Description
Scientific Name: Rhaetus westwoodi
This is a particularly large stag beetle species found in the eastern Himalayas. It has a glossy black coloration, and the male's mandibles are significantly developed. In addition to its distinctive appearance, it is considered rare and highly valued in the market due to the difficulty in breeding and keeping it.
Female characteristics include inconspicuous, fine serrations (silver teeth) on the lateral edges of the pronotum, slightly glossy elytra (insect wings), and three pairs of striations.
Please note that we cannot guarantee against grade reduction due to shipping.
We will ship a specimen collected from ChuduRazi, Kachin State, Myanmar. It was collected in July 2023. My measurement was 70mm.
