Description
Miyama Stag Beetle Specimen
Unmounted
Wild-caught individual
Locality: Akita Prefecture (Detailed locality will be provided only to the purchaser)
Collected: July 2022
No pinholes
Offered from my personal collection.
Miyama stag beetles from Akita Prefecture are rarely available, whether alive or as specimens.
When alive, its eyes were red, but after death, they became pink.
While acquired changes are suspected, other miyama stag beetles managed in the same location and under the same conditions did not change color to this extent, even if their eye color changed, so I believe this is congenital. No coloring or other treatments have been applied.
This is a truly rare, genuine pink-eyed, wild-caught, domestically produced miyama stag beetle.
I understand if you have doubts, so please refrain from purchasing if you do.
