This is a specimen of a Sakishima Stag Beetle (male).
This is a captive-bred individual, with wild-caught parents (male 70mm, female free size) from Iriomote Island.
As it is from a wild bloodline, it has a good body balance, with the thickness and power characteristic of stag beetles, making it a very impressive specimen for display. The realistic pose, with its upper body raised, looks as if it's about to move.
Specimen size: Approximately 65.0mm
The specimen has been coated and was stored in a plastic case.
Case size: Approximately 18cm (height) x 8.5cm (width)
It can be displayed as is for viewing.
