【Little】A type of stink bug with a sumo-like appearance. Specimen Longhorn Beetle, Jewel Beetle, Scarab Beetle
Scientific Name: Pachylis sp.?
Approximately 11 valid species are distributed from the southern United States to Central and South America. Species of the genus Pachylis are terrestrial herbivores that feed on the sap of mesquite and other woody plants, with some species occasionally becoming agricultural pests.
Adults of the genus Pachylis typically measure 20-40 mm in body length, making it a large genus within the family Coreidae. Some species exceed 40 mm. For example, the type species, P. laticornis, has an average body length of 28.4 mm for males and 28.0 mm for females. These body lengths contribute to the robust physique characteristic of this genus, which, along with other external features, aids in field identification.
