Collected on April 20th. This is a Japanese giant hornet queen pickled in shochu.
We capture the rare Japanese giant hornet queen, which can only be encountered between early April and early May, with a net and immediately pickle it in 35% proof white liquor. No chemicals or smoke are used.
Their abdomens are larger than those of worker bees, and it is believed they are filled with eggs to produce a large number of worker bees.
Two hornets are included in a 225cc bottle.
You can observe the clear white liquor gradually changing to a light brown to brown color.
