[Sushi Rice Tub]
Diameter: Approx. 30 cm
Height: Approx. 8.5 cm
Capacity: Approx. 3 go (approx. 540 ml)
Made in Japan
Material: Kiso Sawara cypress wood, copper band

A wooden sushi rice tub you'll want to use for a lifetime.
Vinegared rice placed in a wooden sushi tub will be fluffy and delicious as the wood absorbs excess moisture. When hot rice is placed in glass or stainless steel bowls, moisture tends to build up, and even fanning with a uchiwa (fan) doesn't lower the temperature quickly, making the vinegared rice sticky and prone to spoilage. Wooden sushi tubs naturally regulate moisture and dissipate heat, keeping the rice delicious even when cooled.
The dedicated wooden lid is also useful for storing onigiri (rice balls) and bread. It maintains an optimal condition while allowing excess moisture to escape.

Optimal Material: Kiso Sawara Cypress
Kiso Sawara cypress, from mature trees, boasts beautiful wood grain and contains red heartwood, which is rare in other regions. It also has excellent acid and water resistance, making it an ideal wood for sushi tubs that use vinegar. Furthermore, its lack of strong fragrance does not impair the flavor of the vinegared rice.
With a substantial thickness of approximately 13mm, it is solidly constructed and very durable. This is a masterpiece that can be used for many years.

A large rice paddle is also included.

[Bamboo Rolling Mat]
Two sizes: 27 cm and 24 cm
Material: Bamboo

Used a few times, but in relatively clean condition.
