Description

This was a gift, but as we don't have a use for it in our home, I'd like to pass it on to someone who can utilize it.

This is a beautiful round tray with a peony pattern, featuring gold decoration on red lacquerware.

The interior is vermilion and the exterior is black. It's Wajima lacquerware with a hikka (flying flowers) chinkin finish. It's likely a sushi oke (sushi tub).
Chinkin is a unique Wajima technique where fine chisels carve grooves, and gold or silver powder is embedded to create patterns.
